Description
Come participate in a weekend sports festival. The two-day Olympiad consists of over 35 sporting events for kids from ages 5 to 85 in individual and team competition. Events include such activities as beach volleyball, tots field games, 3 X 3 basketball, golf, tennis, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, horseshoes, miniature golf, rock wall speed climbing, a 10K run and features a SPRINT TRIATHLON.
Course Info
Swim Leg: 500 yards This is a short freshwater swim from the beach at Lake Lure Golf and Beach Resort to the Resort Marina. Athletes will exit the water at the boat ramp to the parking lot for the bike exchange. Race morning water temperature this time of the year may prohibit use of wetsuits under USAT rules. Wave starts by age groups.
[br][br] Bike Leg: 25K- (New this year) This ride is over a mildly hilly terrain. Riders will leave the Marina parking lot and leave the Resort and up a steep hill onto Buffalo Creek Road. The next 12 miles is a moderately challenging ride along Bills Creek Rd, Connor Rd, Cedar Creek Rd, returning on the northern leg of Buffalo Creek down the hill into the Resort for the exchange in the Marina parking area.

[br][br] Run Leg: 5 Kilometers- Runners will enjoy a meandering 5 K loop inside the Resort. The first and last mile are relatively flat with a slight .5 mile climb to the turn for a down-hill to flat return to the race finish line on the beach adjacent to the Marina.
