Run past moonlit bears, snakes, falling houses and the Sun God; some of UCSD's giant outdoor art pieces. Music and food at the finish line. Awards to top finishers. Sponsored by UCSD Recreation. Race proceeds support student leadership programs at UCSD. The Moon God 5k is open to everyone!
This year's course starts near the UCSD Triton Statue outside Price Center. It then goes on a picturesque route going around UCSD, visiting the Warren Bear, Snake Path, Falling Star, the Sun God, and many other works of art around the UCSD campus.
Directions to Race Parking and Race Start
Plan to arrive early. There may be traffic and parking congestion due to Ron Paul speaking on campus.
General Driving Directions to Hopkins Parking Structure. Parking is enforced until 11pm. Permits are available for $1 per 45 minutes.
From North:
- Take I-5 South
- Take exit 29 for Genesee Ave
- Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Genesee Avenue W and merge onto Genesee Ave
- Turn left onto N Torrey Pines Rd
- Turn left onto UCSD Northpoint Driveway
- Continue onto Hopkins Dr
- Turn right onto Voigt Dr.
- Enter Hopkins Parking Structure on your right.
From South:
- Take I-5 north
- Take exit 29 for Genesee Ave
- Turn left onto Genesee Ave
- Turn left onto N Torrey Pines Rd
- Turn left onto UCSD Northpoint Driveway
- Continue onto Hopkins Dr
- Turn right onto Voigt Dr.
- Enter Hopkins Parking Structure on your right.

Hopkins Parking Structure to Moon God Race Start:
- Exit parking structure and walk south on Hopkins Lane
- Exit Hopkins Lane at deadend onto sidewalk, Geisel Library will be on your left
- Continue on the sidewalk downhill and around the south side of the library to the race start @ the Outback Surf Shop
