Description

The Charley Melvin Mad Bomber Run is a 5K fun run or 3K walk. This quirky race came about because ole Charley Melvin didn't like the demon rums. Prohibition was going strong in 1905 when Charley decided to steal 1500 sticks of dynamite from the local quarry and blow the saloons to smithereens. The blast went off at 12:26 a.m. and was felt 13 miles away. The brand new court house had every window blown out and he took down three of the local illegal saloons. Thank goodness the only victims were the bottles of Rum. So come and take off at the time and site of the blast in this Fun Run.
