Temecula Valley, one of the newest destination in the Wine Country Half Marathon Series, is centrally located in the heart of Southern California. In fact, Temecula has earned its reputation as Southern California’s wine country. It’s the perfect wine country escape, nestled quietly among rolling hills and vineyards. With ideal fall temperatures and miles of open space, Temecula is an outdoor enthusiasts dream.

This 13.1 mile course starts and finishes at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, a luxurious full-service property that will host our post-race Wine & Music Festival. The course runs past orchards, horse farms, vineyards and no less than eighteen wineries, ranging from small producers to large production and resort properties. The event expo is held in the City Center, adjacent to historic Old Town, where many of Temecula’s favorite shops and restaurants reside.

This scenic vineyard-centric course starts ands finishes on the property of South Coast Winery Resort & Spa.  The course loops through the heart of Temecula Wine Country passing many of Temecula’s iconic wineries and vineyards, sprinkled amongst fruit orchards, horse ranches, and sprawling estates.  You’ll be treated to vistas of the surrounding hillside vineyards and mountains as the sun rises above the majestic Temecula Valley.

The course is considered moderate in difficulty overall.  It starts and finishes at an elevation of 1,450 ft. with a maximum elevation of 1,778 ft. and a total climb of 683 feet over the 13.1 miles.  The course finishes with a total climb of 270 feet over the final 2.5 miles, with a medium difficult final mile into South Coast Winery from Anza Rd.   USATF course certification will be posted in year two of the race.
