The Southland Credit Union Annual Los Alamitos Race on the Base is all set to take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Southland Credit Union invites you to receive a free Los Alamitos Race on the Base race registration for 1K/5K/10K events or 50% off the Reverse Triathlon when you join Southland Credit Union. Race on the Base events include a Reverse Triathlon, Jr. Reverse Triathlon, 10K Run, 5K Run / Walk, Mission:1K Kids Run, and Wheelchair/Handcycle Race. The race is held on the runways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course. The event also features a distinctive safe-wick moisture management long sleeved shirt for all participants and volunteers, free breakfast or lunch for all racers, 2-day vendor expo, free race clinics, and finisher medals.
Race Day Entrances- Saturday, February 28th- Open through Lexington gate off of Katella Ave. and after 5:00 a.m. on Orangewood Ave. off of Los Alamitos Blvd.
There are only two entrances/exits on the Joint Forces Training Base on Race Day. Participants and spectators should anticipate traffic upon entering and exiting the Base in addition to the time it takes to park and walk to the Start Line. ARRIVE EARLY.
It is strongly recommended to arrive at least one hour and half (1 & 1/2 hours) early for 1K/5K/10K events and at least two (2) hours early for the Triathlon events. In order to enter the Base, all adults must have a valid Driver’s License, Identification Card or Passport IN THEIR HAND to show military personnel. PLEASE HAVE YOUR I.D. INSIDE YOUR CAR AND READY TO PRESENT TO MILITARY PERSONNEL. Triathletes can ride into the Base and enter through the Lexington Gate but must present I.D. and helmets must be worn at all times. No pets allowed on site. No motorhomes or RV's allowed.
