Description

Ally's Run 2011:

  • This race is a charity event to benefit the Ally Memorial Scholarship Fund. Due to limited venue space, the race is limited to 500 participants.
  • Join us at Ride to Walk in celebrating the 2nd annual Ally's Run. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Ally Memorial Scholarship Fund to raise money for children that cannot afford therapy at RTW.
  • The scholarship fund is in memory Allison Ellis who was a 4-year-old rider at RTW. Ally passed away on December 7, 2009.
  • Participants will receive a goody bag, t-shirt, finisher's medal, and plenty of post-race food. Awards will be given out 3 deep for each age division, 10-year divisions (9-under, 10-19, 20-29, etc).
  • Course Info
  • A 10K course has been added to the 2nd annual event.
  • Runners and walkers will make 2 loops around the Ride To Walk facility, part of which borders a lake.
  • 10K runners will venture further out in the local area while still making 2 loops.
  • Both courses contain pavement, gravel, and trail, with some moderate hills.
  • Directions
    From the Sacramento area:
    • Head East on Hwy 80 towards Auburn and Reno Take the Sierra College Blvd exit and turn left and head north over Hwy 80.
    • Stay on Sierra College Blvd to Hwy 193, the Lincoln-Newcastle Hwy.
    • Entrance to the facility is straight across Hwy 193 from Sierra College Blvd.

  • Ride To Walk (RTW) is a nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted therapy to children in our community with neurological disabilities.
