Course Info

SWIM COURSE: 1500 Meter Swim

The swim course will start at the beach at Lake Guntersville state Park. Athletes will start in wave starts from the docks and will swim parallel to the shore keeping the buoys to their left. The swim course will be triangular in shape. Athletes will turn left once they swim past  the large green buoy. After the second turn, athletes will return to the docks keeping the buoys again on their left, and exit the water at the beach.

The water temperatures in this location will be in the upper 60's to low 70's for the race and this will most certainly be a WET SUIT LEGAL swim event.

BIKE COURSE: 24 Mile Bike

The Lake Guntersville Olympic Triathlon will have a 24 mile bike course which begins with a three mile rolling ride within the State Park. After exiting the State Park, athletes will then find a flat, fast and shaded course for the next 18 miles, before returning to the State Park. After the bike, athletes will return to transition adjacent to the beach. The bike course will be monitored by State Park Rangers with the State Park and there will be a number of safety personnel to assist bikers along the route.

RUN COURSE: 6.2 Mile Run

The Lake Guntersville Olympic Triathlon will have a 6.2 mile run course which begins with a 1.7 mile gently rolling run along the paved road of the State Park. Then, runners will exit the paved road and enter onto the gravelroads for near 3 mile rolling but shaded loop before returning to the pavedroad and running back to the FINISHLINE!!!
