2015 :

• In celebration of Wheeling High School’s 50th and District 214’s 100th Anniversary, Wheeling High School will be hosting its first ever 5K run, 1 mile walk, and kids ¼ mile dash. Wheeling’s A.V.I.D. program and Omni Youth Services are co-sponsoring the event.

• The event will be on Satruday April 18th.

• The kids (grades K-6) ¼ mile dash will begin at 8:15 a.m. and will take place on the track of the Wheeling football stadium. Cost of the kids dash will be $5.

• The 1 mile walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will also take place on the track of the Wheeling football stadium. Cost of the walk will be $10.

• The 5K will begin in the Wheeling High parking lot, run through the neighborhood just west of Wheeling High School and return to the school and finish up in the football stadium. Cost of the 5K is $30.

• Medals will be given to top finishers in all categories.

• Concessions, games, activities, and entertainment will also be on site. Proceeds will go towards student scholarships and Omni Youth Services.

Course Info

• 5K Race will start in parking lot of high school, run around front of the school.  

• There will then be a short grass area to run over, (approx. 200 yards), then a pretty flat run through a neighborhood.  Race will finish with one lap on the track at the football stadium.
