Celebrate the Joy of Christmas and join us for the 7th anniversary of this locally-produced event that celebrates Christmas and raises money to help the animals. The 12k’s of Christmas®, Arizona’s Event of the Year, hosts the largest pet adoption event of the season in the east valley. Along with our friends from Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, there will be at least 25 animal rescue groups in Santa’s Pet Village.
Meet new furry friends, shop in the Christmas Bazaar and enjoy Christmas Caroling on the San Tan Ford Reindeer Stage at this FREE event. Bring the little ones to meet Santa and play on the bouncy.
For the fitness minded, run or walk in the 12k, 6k or 1.2k event with carolers at every “k”. Strollers and leashed pets welcome. Gifts for the best Christmas-themed running outfits, best decorated entries, most Christmas spirit, and cutest pets.
The 12k route is US Track & Field Certified.
Course (12k = 7.5 miles)
The 12k starts and ends at Gilberts Freestone District Park with an out and back route along Western Powerline Trail. Its a flat, scenic trail mainly running on packed gravel past farms and behind the Riparian area with only 3 street crossings. NOTE: the police have closed these roads for the duration of the run.
Course (6k = 3.7 miles)
The 6k starts and ends at Gilberts Freestone District Park with an out and back route along Western Powerline Trail. Its a flat, mainly packed gravel trail with only one street crossing. Note: there is a total road closure.
From the East Valley
Take Guadalupe Road to Lindsay Road, then south 1.5 miles to Juniper Avenue.
From Phoenix / West Valley
East on 1-10 - then continue east on US60 (Superstition Freeway).
Exit Gilbert Road, then south to Guadalupe Road.
East on Guadalupe Road to Lindsay Road, then south 1.5 miles to Juniper Avenue.
From Scottsdale
Take the Loop 101 south to US60.
East on US60, exit Gilbert Road - then south to Guadalupe Road.
East on Guadalupe Road to Lindsay Road, then south 1.5 miles to Juniper Avenue.
From Sky Harbor Airport
Follow signs to 143 / Hohokam Expressway Southbound.
Take 1-10 / US60 - stay east on US60.
Exit Gilbert Road - then south to Guadalupe Road.
East on Guadalupe Road to Lindsay Road, then south 1.5 miles to Juniper Avenue.
