To provide the most meaningful impact possible, The North Texas Community Giving Foundation, in partnership with The Tug McGraw Foundation, is excited to introduce the first endurance event for the city of Frisco!

About Us

The North Texas Community Giving Foundation is pleased to introduce its inaugural event, the Texas Big Star Half Marathon & 5k. Our foundation was born from a few individuals who wanted to make a positive impact in their community and was built on the mantra, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”- Mahatma Gandhi. We will work to support programs and organizations in the North Texas area that are aligned with our mission: The North Texas Community Giving Foundation is dedicated to building a strong local community by supporting youth, women, families and others through awareness, service and financial support. The North Texas Community Giving Foundation provides grants to local non-profit organizations that promote the Foundation’s mission.

The Tug McGraw Foundation (TMF) was established by Tug McGraw in 2003 to raise funds to enhance the quality of life of children and adults with brain tumors and their families by stimulating and facilitating research that addresses the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual impact of the disease. Recognizing that other areas of brain research – such as traumatic brain injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder – inform the science surrounding brain cancer, TMF has widened its scope to include a broader spectrum of the neuroscience to support advances in medical care and quality of life for our nation’s battle-wounded, ill and injured service members.

Course

The Texas Big Star Half & 5k will start at Toyota Stadium (9200 World Cup Way, Frisco, Texas). All finishers will finish at Toyota Stadium, home of FC Dallas. To ensure safety to all runners, the USATF certified courses will be closed to traffic for four (4) hours.
