Srq Run & SUP 5K ~ Results...

The 2nd Annual SRQ RUN & SUP 5K event will be held Nathan Benderson Park to benefit Operation Second Chance. 

Nathan Benderson Park is home to a range of international championships as well as the site for the 2017 World Rowing Championships!  Benderson also plays host to large scale recreational activities, including dragon boat, canoe and kayak races to triathlon and cross-country events, 5K and 10K runs, this is the venue to come and play!  

The community park is also conveniently located immediately adjacent to University Town Center – Southwest Florida’s newest shopping, dining and entertainment destination.  You will not be left disappointed by this venue.

EVENT DAY INFORMATION

ALL RACES BEGIN AT 8am.  SUNRISE on race morning: 6:40am.

There is ample parking at Nathan Benderson Park, right at the race site.  For those who are renting paddle boards, the boards will be available on race morning.  Volunteers will direct you to the pick-up location.  SUP folks who are renting boards are encouraged to arrive no later than 7am to secure their board and paddles. 

PFD's will be provided for the SUP participants. 

Dr. Heidi Anderson, our local dermatologist says..."don't forget your sunscreen!"

Presented by Sarasota Athletic Association and Sponsored by New Balance Sarasota, Fleet Feet Sarasota and Molly's, this unique event offers an extraordinarily spectator friendly venue with full bleacher style front and center seating.  Races begin at 8am.   The weather will be warm on race day, so dress appropriately.  The race director will have sunscreen for those who forget to bring theirs!  Kids are welcome and encouraged to come out and participate.  The sooner we get them interested in some sort of sport, the sooner they will meet all of the cool adults, like us!

Thursday, May 19th from 4pm - 7pm:  1872 Stickney Point Road, Sarasota, 34231.  Beer, wine and fun will be served - come out and meet the SRQ SUP & RUN team. 

Race Morning:  6:30am until race time.

OPERATION SECOND CHANCE

And keep in mind, above all else - this event benefits our veterans and their families through the organization - Operation Second Chance.  During your registration process you will have the opportunity to donate $5.00 to them, please do so if you are able to.  If not, take pride in the fact that your registration fee also goes to this wonderful organization!
