Sierra Trail Half Marathon and 5k run/walk

The Sierra Trail Half Marathon and 5K will be run on fantastic, scenic, single track trails that travel along the shoreline of Folsom Lake and through the forested foothills of south Placer County.

Sierra Nevada Trail Challenge:

The Sierra Nevada Trail Challenge competition combines your finish time from the Sierra Trail Half Marathon on Saturday October 20 with your finish time as a Solo Rider from the TBF MTB 50 Miler mountain bike race on Sunday October 21.  The top male and female athletes with the fastest time from both days will win a Free Cruiser Bicycle worth over $500. All athletes racing both days will be automatically entered into the Sierra Nevada Trail Challenge.

Course Info

The Sierra Trail Half Marathon starts along the shore of Folsom Lake and after a short section on pavement begins climbing the small hills of the shoreline for an out and back course that veers once to a scenic point along the lake and returns up some short but steep hills, with aid stations spread evenly along the course. There is a climb up Mooney Ridge on the way back to the finish line.
