Barbara Nevins and the Southwest Cafe present the 9th annual Southwest Cafe Margarita Run to benefit the Ridgefield Sunrise Cottage. This festive 5k offers participants great awards and a free margarita while supporting a wonderful community cause.

Benefit:

The Southwest Café Margarita 5K will be donating all net proceeds to the Sunrise Cottage in Ridgefield, Connecticut. TheSunrise Cottage is a residence for members of the community with disabilities. It is part of ARI (Always Reaching for Independence), and devoted to enriching the lives of people with disabilities and their families by enabling them to achieve their fullest potential at home, at work, and in the community.

Race Times:

Race will start promptly at 7:00 PM.

5K Entry Fees:

$25.00 pre-registration (June 1 – July 29)

$28.00 registration (July 30 – Race Day, online until July 31)

$30 Race Day

5k Awards:

Top Male & Female Finishers

Top 3 Male & Female in Age Groups (9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)

All award winners receive a Southwest Café margarita glass commemorating the restaurant’s 25th anniversary.

All participants (21 & over) will receive ONE FREE MARGARITA from the Southwest Café with the presentation of your race number following the race. Soft drinks available for 20 & younger. And you can join us in the Cafe' after the run for a great dinner.

Race Course:

This is a flat and fast USATF certified course. The course is an out and back on South St. Runners will pass behind Union Savings Bank, turning right onto Farmingville Rd., left on Limekiln Rd., left on Lee Rd., and then right onto Famingville Rd., right on Noran's Ridge, around the loop, back out to Farmingville, and left onto the South St. by-pass to the finish. Post Race Raffle & Festivities:

Post race raffle & race results on the green in front of Southwest Café. In addition to Southwest's well known raffle there will be other light snacks.

LIVE MUSIC! after the race. Enjoy ONE FREE Margarita for all participants (21 & up) with their race number.

Restrictions:

Pets, in-line skates, and bikes are not permitted on the course. We ask that participants with baby joggers be respectful of other competitors and yield the right of way.
