Prize Money for Top Male, Female Finishers

New in 2015, the top male and top female finishers in the Wildcat Run - Conquer the Canyon each receives $100 prizes.

The reward for all of the runners will be the experience of running in the footsteps of champions. For 26 years, the perennial league champion, CIF champion and now defending State champion Brea Olinda High School cross country teams have hosted the Brea Invitational high school meet at Carbon Canyon Regional Park. Now runners of all ages have the opportunity to "Conquer the Canyon."

The 3-mile course takes runners through Orange County's only giant redwood grove, alongside a serene lake, through rugged canyon trails and to the top of a ridge that offers stunning views of Catalina Island and the Palos Verdes peninsula. The finishing stretch is a thrilling, downhill adventure on grass between tall trees. Final results will be posted at the venue and at BreaXCInvite.com.

After the run, stay to watch some of Southern California's finest prep runners take on the same course as they race to win the Brea Invitational.

All proceeds benefit the Brea Olinda High cross country programs.

Course Info

Length: 3.05 miles

Course: Loop

Surfaces: Grass, sand, dirt, asphalt, concrete

Hills: Several slight elevation gains in first 2 miles ... steep 200-foot incline to top of dam in final mile.

Setting: Entire race is set inside the beautiful regional park.

Directions

57 Freeway to Lambert Rd. exit in Brea.
East for 1-1/2 miles.
About a half-mile east of Valencia Ave., turn right into Carbon Canyon Regional Park.

Parking: It's a county regional park, which charges $5 to park on weekends. Free street parking is available across the street in the nearby residential area.
