Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer 5K (Eufaula, AL)

• 1 Mile Fun Run:- Run 1 Mile

  Blazer Bolt is a 501c3 organization whose annual event is the Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer. This race was created entirely to support those who are battling brain cancer. All proceeds will directly benefit the University of Alabama Birmingham Division of Neuro Oncology for research of adult and pediatric brain cancer as well as patient support services. Patients, family, and friends will enjoy a flat, fast 5 K course through the scenic Homewood neighborhoods in late autumn starting at 8 AM.  A 1 mile walk/fun run will begin at 9 AM.  Chip timing for instant results will be provided by DG Racing.  Race announcer, Rick Journey will provide pre and post race announcements and race awards. Overall Male & Female, Master’s Male & Female, and Top Three in each Age Group (every 5 years from age 10 to 75+) will receive a unique hand crafted piece of pottery created by elite marathon runner, Pablo Sierra.   The top 3 female and male in the 1 mile will each also receive a hand crafted piece of pottery. Participants will enjoy access to   expertise information and sample a unique recipe created by oncologist and chef, Dr. Luis F. Pineda MD, founder of Cooking with Cancer.  Performance-wear short sleeved T- shirts with sizes selected at the time of registration are designed here in Birmingham. Team registration is encouraged. We are ever thankful to all the participants, team members, family, friends, and volunteers who helped our first race register over 419 participants in addition to over 25 individual teams for our inaugural race on October 25 2014.
