Walk 'n Wag will include a 5k walk or run, demonstrations,  music, vendor booths, a photo booth, a "Kissing Booth" (get a pup smooch), gourmet food trucks, a raffle, canine costume and best trick contests, and more! 

Returning this year: the Doggie Fun Zone! Energetic, athletic dog? She'll enjoy zooming through this action-packed obstacle course!

8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m - Check-In Next to the pavilion in the Buena Vista Group Area 
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Vendor Booths, Food Trucks, Crafts for Kids, Entertainment, Dog Agility, etc.
9:00 a.m. - 5K Run Begins
10:00 a.m. - 5K Walk Begins
10:45 a.m. - 3/4 mile Walk Begins

Course Info


Routes: 

One 5K run route will be offered, as well as two walk routes: a 5K, and a 3/4 mile, lakeside loop! Restrooms will be available near and, in some sections, along the walk route. At least one route will be wheelchair, wagon, and stroller accessible.

Walker Rules and "Wag"ulations:

  • A Waiver must be signed and turned in on the day-of at Check-In if you have not registered on this site.
  • The Walk Routes are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Please, no skateboards, bicycles, scooters (Razors), roller skates, etc. - just your feet and your shoes! 
  • Sunscreen and hats are encouraged.
  • Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.  
  • No alcohol allowed.

Doggie Rules and "Wag"ulations:

  • For your dog's safety, we encourage the participation of dogs that are accustomed to regular exercise and are well adjusted to crowds and noisy environments with large numbers of people and other dogs.
  • Dogs must be current on all shots and rabies vaccinations. Every dog must wear an ID tag.
  • No dogs in heat. No aggressive dogs. Humane Society Silicon Valley reserves the right to remove any dog from the Walk that we feel is posing a threat to the safety of people or other animals, or that is unfit to participate in the Walk.
  • Dogs must be leashed (6-foot max) and in control. No retractable leashes, please. You must pick up after your dog.  Encourage others to do the same.
  • A walker can have no more than two dogs under his or her control and children must be at least 12 years old to walk one dog with adult supervision.
  • A shorter walk route (3/4 mile) will be available to accommodate senior dogs.

Parking:

Parking is free and will be available on site! Follow signs, once you enter Hellyer Park. Please note: There are two lots, one is about a ten minute walk to the site. We encourage carpooling so as many participants as possible can park in the nearer lot.
