It's the second-annual Briarfest, a three-day festival held Sept. 11-13, designed to bring family fun and a sense of community to Briargate. The Bolt 5K and Kids' 1K are just two events in the festival. Other activities include live concerts, carnival rides, food, arts & craft fair, wine tasting, a beer garden and a silent auction. Click here for more information on the many events of Briarfest. Help us create “Unity in Community” in Briargate!
A portion of the proceeds from all Briarfest events will benefit the Marian House Soup Kitchen and the USO of Colorado Springs.
This easy 5K (3.1 mile) out-and-back course will begin at St. Gabriel in Colorado Springs. Exiting the church grounds, westbound Research Parkway will be cordoned off for the race. A short portion of the race route will be on a well-maintained dirt path, before returning to the church campus. An aid station will be located at the 3K mark.
The race will not be professionally timed, but will put more serious runners at the front of the pack. Baby strollers are allowed, but a portion of the race is on an unpaved trail.
