3rd Annual Running of the Nerds 5K and 10K

Why choose Chandler Prep Academy’s 3nd Annual “Running of the Nerds”  5K and 10K run? To help further education! 

The goal---

You will be helping 87 students fulfill their fundraising goal for their 2017 Senior Trip to Washington, D.C. 

 The school---

 Chandler Preparatory Academy believes in each students' innate potential to comprehend the rich tradition of Western Civilization to which they are heirs and to grow in the virtues that mark a profound, philosophical life -- summarized by the triad of our Latin motto: verum, pulchrum, bonum -- truth, beauty, and goodness. The students' Senior trip is an important part of this classical education experience from which our school is modeled. During their time at Chandler Prep, the students focus exclusively on learning about Western Civilization. The trip to Washington D.C. enhances the focus of the Western Civilization by providing them an opportunity to physically experience the cultural and political center of our part of the Western world.

The run---

The race course will begin and end at the SRP PERA Club park in Tempe and will follow the canal for most of the run.  This race welcomes runners of all levels.

Event details and schedule

Packet Pick-Up dates/locations will be announced closer to the event.

5k Race Begins @ 9:15AM

10k Race Begins @ 9:00AM

Chip timing will be used; there will be a monitor at the race with times listed as well as an online link to times after the race.

Awards Ceremony will be immediately following each race. 

Awards will be top three finishers in each category.

Age categories as follows:

Student Grade

K-2; 3-5,

6-8; 9-12

Adult Age 

18-29; 30-39

40–49; 50-59

60 and over

Gates will open at 8:00 and parking will be directed to the North side and West side lots. 

Water stations will be available for the runners, as well as snacks at the finish.

Please bring your Drivers License or Student ID if you are signing up on race day, along with payment.

 There will also be a Silent Auction and 50/50 raffle
