Come join us on Sunday, November 15th for the 2nd Annual Miles of Music 5K as we take over the backlot and streets of New York City at Paramount Pictures Studios. Run the streets where your favorite movies and TV shows were filmed. Music and live performances provided by proud partner and LA's #1 Hit Music Station, 102.7 KIIS-FM. This is an incredible community event supporting a great cause! All proceeds raised will go towards sponsoring Youth Mentoring programs across the greater Los Angeles area.

Last year, Miles of Music 5K raised over $100,000 to provide 1:1 mentorship for 50 additional high school students. That includes transportation, monthly planned outings, field trips and team activities! Our goal for 2015 is to hit $200,000 to expand our reach in Los Angeles and impact even MORE lives in the surrounding community.

ABOUT YOUTH MENTORING
The Mission of Youth Mentoring is to awaken at-risk youth to their power, unique gifts and purpose by matching them with caring adult mentors and placing that “match” within a structured group dynamic that provides the resources youth need to reach productive, conscious adulthood. We further seek to awaken society to the needs, promise and value of this overlooked population. Our Vision is of a community where young people are truly seen and not just watched, where society understands and accepts its responsibility in meeting the needs of all young people, and where young people bring their gifts back into their communities as productive members of society.

We serve over 450 youth in the Los Angeles area each year. These youth come from the most under served neighborhoods, striving to overcome broken schools and broken homes surrounded by a society in which they do not feel seen.

96% of Youth Mentoring program participants graduate high school
58% of participants are less likely to use drugs
82% improve their ability to react positively to difficulties
74% improve their attitude about the future
3 nascent gangs dissolved
61% report improved relationships with parents
70% improve relationships with people of other cultures and ethnicities
