Description

The challenging and popular Bulldog runs consist of two races - the 50K Ultra Run and the 25K Trail Run, which are conducted simultaneously. Come join us and run in the beautiful scenic Santa Monica Mountains recreational area for the "original" Bulldog Trail Runs beginning at our base camp in Malibu Creek State Park, Malibu California.

We look forward to you joining us at the 25th annual event for a memorable day in Malibu Creek State Park.

RRCA 50K Awards to Male/Female Winners, as follows:

Open Division (fastest time by male & female age 18 or over)
Master Division (fastest time by male & female age 40 or over)
Grand Master Division (fastest time by male & female age 50 or over)
Senior Grand Master Division (fastest time by male & female age 60 or over)
Top 3 male & female runners in 10-year age divisions.

25K Awards:

Overall male/female
Top 3 male & female runners in 10-year age divisions

Event details and schedule

RACE START TIMES:

50K start 6:30 AM -- (9-hour time limit for 50K) No early starts: Course closes at 3:30 PM.

25K start 7:30 AM -- (8-hour time limit for 25K) No early starts: Course closes at 3:30 PM.

50K runners will be permitted to drop down to the 25K during the race per the following conditions:

#1) 50K runner must remove his/her bib tag and turn it in to the aid station #4 Captain (inside MCSP).

#2) When approaching the finish line, runner must enter the 25K finish chute.

#3) The difference between the 50K & 25K start times will be deducted from the runners actual finish time.

#4) Runner will not be eligible for overall or age division awards.

#5) Runner may not set course records of any kind.

#6) Runner will receive a 25K finisher medal.

#7) Runners 25K time will be recorded in the race results with an *, indicating they were 50K drop down.

50K -- THE COURSE: Start and finish at base camp. Double loop course totaling 30.70 miles per 2001 Tom Harrison Maps.

2016 is the Silver Anniversary of the Bulldog 50K Ultra Run! Establised in 1992, this race is a staple in the So Cal Ultra Running community. A RRCA State Championship 50K Race makes this a challenging competition for the serious athlete yet with a 9-hour time limit, it's perfect for the newbie ultra runner. Held in conjunction with a 25K trail run.
