We Run To Make a Difference !
Your participation in the Panting for Paws annual race does more than keep our doors open, or put nourishing food into hungry bellies, or provide one more vaccine, clean blankets, or a toy to the abandoned animals at our shelter. It helps to reignite the spark in the once dark and frightened eyes of each animal in our care, and gives each the courage to live fully, not just to survive.
It gives our staff and volunteers genuine hope that their efforts have not been in vain -- that the cats and dogs who have found refuge with us have a chance and will not be tossed back to the streets.
It promises a new life for these animals -- one in which they learn to trust and to love again.
We thank you for your generous heart and for demonstrating that a difference can be made ... one step at a time.
Both the 5k run/walk and the 1 Mile Fun Run will take place at Lippold Park on a scenic path of crushed limestone. The course is flat throughout. Both races will start and end near the baseball pavilion in the northeast section of the park. This is a CARA certified course.
Special Note to Participants: Although the proceeds from this race will benefit the dogs and cats of Helping Paws, for the safety of everyone, there will be no pets allowed on any of the race paths. However, leashed dogs current on their vaccines are welcome at the park as a spectator to bark for their humans. Please be courteous and clean up after your pets!
Shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after Oct 15, but they will be distributed while supplies last. Online registration will close at 11pm Thursday , 10-29-15. Packet pickup and in person registration will be Friday and Saturday October 30 and 31 at Helping Paws from 12-4pm or at the race on Sunday starting at 7am. Thank you and good luck!
