14th Annual SOME Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger

• Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger:- Run 3.1 Miles

Join 10,000 participants at DC's only turkey trot!  The Trot for Hunger begins with  a Kids' One Mile Fun Run at 8:30 am, followed by a timed 5K run/walk at 9:00 am.  All proceeds benefit SOME's (So Others Might Eat) services for the hungry and homeless in our nation's capital.  

Participants start on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, near 12th Street going southeast on the south side of Pennsylvania Avenue. Proceed south on Third Street NW turning west on Independence Avenue, SW, completing a turnaround. Go south on Fourth Street, SW and proceed east on D Street, SW. Turn north on Third Street crossing Independence Avenue and continuing northeast on Maryland Avenue to First Street, NW. Turn north on First Street then proceed west on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, staying on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue to the start.

The walk and run will begin and end on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 13th Street, NW and 12th Street, NW. Please allow enough time to pick up your race packet and to get to the line-up area prior to the 9:00 am start time.

Metro: 

The Metro opens at 7:00 am on race day.
There are a number of stops that are close to the Start/Finish line: 
Federal Triangle (Orange and Blue Lines) .3 miles from the start 
Metro Center (Red, Orange and Blue) - .2 miles from the start

Be sure to start for the race site early, especially if you are coming from the outlying stops. Factor in enough time for the train, plus check-in or warm-up. 

Parking:

Street parking will be available on the streets to the north of Pennsylvania Avenue. As it is a holiday, time limits and meter fees will not apply.  The parking garages in the area will not be open.
