Aspen Valley Marathon starts in Aspen, Colorado and follows the Historical and beautiful Rio Grande Trail gradually descending 1,500 feet alongside the Roaring Fork River to the town of Basalt. The Marathon is a Boston Qualifying event and is one of the faster qualifiers on the North Americal Marathon Calendar (presently in the top 40 of over 300 marathons). Come and visit Aspen and see the World famous Maroon Bells. Aspen Valley Marathon was voted "Best Marathon to visit in Colorado" by Tripadvisor in 2014.
