Description

Chickamauga Chase History: This will be the forty-eighth running of The Chickamauga Chase. It has been held since 1968 in the historic and beautiful Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. The Chickamauga Chase is the Chattanooga area's oldest continuously run road race, and the signature event 15K is one of America's oldest races at this distance.

Establishment of the National Military Park: 153 years ago, the historical battle took place in the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park where the Confederate victory gave new hope to the South. Soon Chattanooga fell setting the stage for the capture of Atlanta, Sherman's March to the Sea, and the resolution of the long war. The Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park became the first of America's great national military parks established to commemorate the heroism of both the North and South.
