The Brooklyn Marathon is yet another step in the journey to the world’s center stage that Brooklyn has taken in recent decades. Now in it’s 6th year, this race has sold out every year annually, been lauded as “Marathon Of The Year” and attracted runners from all over the planet. We think of it as the best little big city race in America.
Course: The USATF-Certified, Boston Qualifying marathon will comprise 6 full loops and 3 lower loops of the park. Course Map
Race Cap & Time Limit: This race is currently capped at 500 runners. The official time limit is 6 hours but as a rule of thumb the last thing we unplug is the finish line mat – take your chances over 6:00.
Awards: Awards and prize money will be given to the top three male and female runners overall as follows: $250 for 1st Place, $100 for 2nd Place, and $50 for 3rd Place. Awards will be also be given to the top three male and female finishers in each ten year age group.
Packet Pickup: Pre-race packet pickup TBD. Race day packet pickup will be available starting at 7:00 AM by the start/finish area in Prospect Park.
Amenities: A great long sleeve race shirt and an amazing finisher medal will be included. Bag check and toilets will be provided. Hot chocolate, bagels, spreads, and fresh fruit will make up the usual great NYCRUNS post race spread.
Directions: Take the F/G to 15th St Prospect Park or the Q to Prospect Park. Please check MTA Trip Planner for up to date and detailed mass transit directions and Google Maps for driving directions. Parking is limited at all of our events, we strongly encourage you to use mass transit.
Cost: The marathon costs $95.00. NYCRUNS members receive a 10% discount, race deferral rights, and other perks.
The standard no-refunds, no-deferrals, no-transfers policy applies, unless you are signed up for the NYCRUNS membership program.
The race will start and end on Center Drive in Prospect Park.
The course exits Center Drive at West Drive makes 2 circuits of the lower loop of the park, followed by six full loops and one final lower loop before returning to Center Drive from East Drive and completing.
The course is entirely in the rec lanes - runners on the main roadway can be disqualified.
