Lacawac Sanctuary is pleased to announce the 3rd annual Lake to Lake 8K Trail Run and Woods Walk on Sunday October 16th on the trails of Lacawac in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania. Our Lake to Lake event kicks off at 11 am! Run and walk through the trails of Lacawac Sanctuary-over 400 acres of wonder, biodiversity and natural resources.
Lacawac is a special 545-acre wildlife sanctuary on the shore of Lake Wallenpaupack. Its rich woodland habitat boasts a diverse array of plants, animals, and birds and provides a wonderful refuge for local residents and visitors to commune with nature.
We partner with schools and civic organizations to provide hands-on learning experiences to grow next generation stewards. We strive to preserve our unique glacial lake, its watershed, surrounding forest and historic buildings. We conduct scientific research on key environmental issues like water quality and climate change and provide learning opportunities for future scientists from Kindergarten through graduate school.
This outdoor course winds through 550 acres of wooded nature trails and access roads, all on the grounds of Lacawac Sanctuary. Be advised that sections of the course are technical, rocky and steep. No dogs or strollers on 8K course, both are welcome on Woods Walk.
