This is the first year that the ROTC program at Stephen F. Austin State University has hosted a 5K Event here on campus! The Stephen F. Austin State University Department of Military Science, also known as the Lumberjack Battalion, was established on November 20, 1968. The battalion has provided college-trained officers for the United States Army, the United States Army Reserve and the Army National Guard since its existence.
The run is designed to go throughout all the trails on the campus here at SFA and even through the ROTC Obstacle course! The starting line is behind the soccer field on the intramural fields and then goes through the SFA Arboretum, under the bride on East College, across the commuter lot, behind the football stadium, through another set of trails, running East on Austin Street towards University and back towards the intramural fields through the Obstacle course and to the finish line.
There will be 3 heats for the race: 8:00AM, 8:10AM, 8:20AM.
Packet pick up: Friday April 22: Infront of Military Science Building (Corner of East College Steet & Wilson Drive) 5-7pm. Saturday April 23: Starting line 7am - 7:50am.
Arrival Info: 7:15 AM a the purple & white tent on the intramural fields of SFA off Wilson Dr.
Parking: Wilson Drive, Pecan Park, Behind library, commuter Lot, Parking garage of SFA.
There will be 2 water stations along the route set up!
