Join the fun at the 3rd Annual Magellan Development Chicago Spring Half Marathon and 10K. The race will take place downtown and run along Chicago's magnificent lakefront.
Distances1The race will have a Half Marathon and a 10K distance. There will also be a Junior Dash for children 2-12 years old.First Responder Division2Are you a member of a Chicago area Police or Fire Department? Employed by the F.B.I. or C.I.A.? Then try competing in the First Responders category at the 2011 Magellan Development Chicago Spring Half Marathon!!! You will be competing against other first responders in either the 10K or the Half Marathon. Rather than being scored against others in your particular age group, you and your fellow colleagues will be competing against other law enforcement and first responder agencies.Course3Both Half Marathon and 10K races will start just steps away from Chicagos Lake Michigan waterfront alongside the Chicago River, taking runners south along Chicagos scenic lakefront path. The two loop half marathon course (one loop 10K course) then continues through the citys historic museum campus, along side Soldier Field and will finish up at The Park at LakeShore East where runners will celebrate their achievements at our one of a kind post race picnic.Awards4The event will be handing out awards to the Top Three Men and Women in both the Half Marathon and the 10K. There will also be awards given to the Top Three Men and Women in age group categories as well as First Responder divisions, for both the Half Marathon and 10K. All participants in the Junior Dash will receive a participant ribbon.Goodies and Picnic5All participants in the Half Marathon and 10K will receive a short sleeved technical t-shirt and entry into the catered Post Race picnic. All participants in the Junior Dash will receive a short sleeved cotton t-shirt and entry into the catered Post Race picnic. Additional picnic tickets can be purchased on race day.
