The China Peak Sprint Triathlon is the newest addition to the TBF Racing schedule and we are very excited about this fun and challenging race in this incredible location: China Peak Ski Resort. Take the weekend and come up and enjoy this event with your family.
Swim Course1The race starts from the beach in Huntington Lake, nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains at 7,000 feet altitude. The water temperature will be cold expect 50 to 52 degrees water, or colder for the half mile swim.Bike Course2The 16 mile two-loop bike course is an out and back course on local roads winding through the sequoia and redwood trees along the shoreline of Huntington Lake. Athletes are responsible for counting their own bike laps to insure they finish both laps.Run Course3The 3-mile run course is perhaps one of the most scenic and beautiful sprint triathlon run courses in the country. Winding along the shore of the lake on footpath trails shaded by giant trees, the course combines a little bit of pavement through the campground with the single track trails.Divisions/Awards4For the China Peak Sprint Triathlon there will be 5-year age groups beginning with 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. and ending with 70+ for male and female individuals. There will be Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 150 lbs) Divisions. Awards will be presented five deep in each five-year age group for the China Peak Sprint Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams in each Division of Male, Female and Coed.Competitor Goodys5Included for each competitor in the China Peak Sprint Triathlon will be a tech-tee race shirt, XTERRA swim cap (for triathletes), athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar and Emerald Nuts product samples. Also included will be a post race party with hot food, beer and wine included for athletes over 21 years of age, courtesy of China Peak Ski Resort.
