Join us for the 6th annual IRON 5K run/walk from Amherst County High School through the scenic small town of Amherst, Virginia.  This event will benefit students in Central Virginia Public Schools by providing funds for our program's student focused activities.  Even if you are not participating in the event, come celebrate with the community in Lancer Stadium at  Amherst County High School. Donations are welcome and spectators can purchase an IRON T-shirt $15.

What is IRON?
IRON stands for, I’m Responsible for Overcoming Negativity, and consists of four groups; IRON- focuses on high school males , IRON Diamonds-focuses on high school females,  T.I.N. Men (Turning Into Noble Men)- focuses on middle school males, and  Rubies- focuses on middle school females . This program is designed to develop and polish students in the areas of academics, professionalism, leadership, respect, and community service. We have biweekly meetings where speakers come and speak to the groups about various subjects including, decision making, self-respect and respecting others, how to be successful, and practical financial strategies, just to name a few. In addition to our meetings we have a positive music program, college workshops, a community 3 on 3-basketball tournament, 5k run/walk, a step team, poetry nights, a peer-tutoring program, and many community service projects, including a huge community service project in the Town of Amherst called The Spring Clean. For more information visit www.ironlives.com
