Miracles In Motion 5K

The Miracle League now in existence since 1998, is a charitable organization that provides children and adults with mental and/or physical challenges an opportunity to play baseball as a team member in an organized league. There is something about playing the game of baseball that lights up a player’s eyes, but for individuals facing mental and physical challenges, that opportunity can be often a difficult first test. The Miracle League gives these players the opportunity to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the game of baseball in its purest form. This Miracle League was the first in the State of Alabama and serves players in the St. Clair, Etowah, Jefferson, Shelby, Talladega, Blount, and Calhoun counties.

The Miracle League surface is made up of a custom designed, cushioned synthetic turf that accommodates wheel chairs and other walking assistance devices. The stadium restrooms are completely accessible to people with disabilities. The dugouts are designed so wheelchairs can easily make their way to and from home plate. The field is now over 15 years old and has several areas that have deteriorated over time making it difficult for players to easily make their way to and from home plate.  (See pictures below.)

It is our mission to replace our aging field in order to meet the needs of all of our disabled players. Our goal is to raise $300,000 to replace this custom synthetic turf so our players can make those home runs they deserve, so we hope that you will be able to register for this event.
