The Fifth Annual Sherry Shumaker Memorial Pancreatic Cancer 5K

• The Fifth Annual Sherry Shumaker Memorial Pancreatic Cancer 5K:- Run 3.1 Miles

The Ritter Park 5k course starts out by the playground on the road in the middle of the park and heads out and along the boulevard looping around the Memorial Arch and returning to the park. The One Mile Walk will remain along the pathway around Ritter Park.

5K participants: $20 - Pre-Registration before July 15, 2016 $15 for teams (four or more people) $15 for one mile walk participants $25 - Day of Event:(Must Register by June 17th to receive a T-Shirt, T-Shirts will NOT be guaranteed for entries received after June 17, 2016) Race day registration will begin at 7am. Announcements and pre-race information will begin at 7:20am. The gun will go off promptly at 8am to start the race. Unless there is an unforeseen emergency, there will be no late start. Please arrive early.

Age Groups: 10 and under 11-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 and Up

The top three overall finishers will receive an award. The top three male and female finishers in their age group will receive an award. Awards will also be given for: Largest Team, Largest team fundraisers, Largest individual fundraiser. There will be a drawing for door prizes after the race and awards ceremony. $1 or $5 for an arm lengh of tickets.

The Sherry Shumaker Memorial Pancreatic Cancer 5K began in an effort to remember an educator and Huntington resident, Sherry L. Shumaker, who died after a hard battle with Pancreatic Cancer. This event has grown and is a local resource for information about Pancreatic Cancer. The Sherry Shumaker Memorial Fund, Inc. has raised $24,053 to date for Pancreatic Cancer Research. This event continues to raise funds and awareness in our community about this disease. All proceeds are donated to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The Lustgarten Foundation's operating costs are underwritten by Cablevision, which means 100% of all funds donated go directly to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
