March for Marrow Los Angeles 2016 (formerly Hope, Steps & A Cure) is our 6th annual 5K run at Shoreline Village. The course is flat, fast and ideal for beating your personal best. We'll run south along the beautifaul Long Beach Shoreline, around th eQueen Mary jetty and back.
We run a 5k and walk or run either 1-mile or 2-miles along the Long Beach Shoreline using the newly renovated bike path and out and back on the marina jetty.
Shoreline VIllage is located in the downtown Long Beach area at 429 Shoreline Village Drive. You can access it from the north via the 710 and West Shoreline Drive and from the south via the 405 exiting at 2nd Street and going on north to Ocean Blvd and west to Shoreline Drive.

Rainy Day Policy
Rain or shine we will run and walk. But in case of thunder and lightening, we will not. The event will not be re-scheduled, but we hope that you understand that there will be no refunds either. Your donation is tax-deductible at the rate of $22 per $30 spent with us at the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (or $28 per $25 spent iof you are a late registrant).
Awards
Top prizes: There will be $200 cash prizes for the first male and female finishers who beat the previously established fastest times for the 5K. The top male time to beat is 18:45.20 set by Clint Lindsly in 2014 and the top female time to beat is 19:57.00 set by Maria Castaneda in 2015.
NEW! This year we are adding cash prizes for our Masters category, which we define as male or female runners who are 70 years old or older. There will be $50 cash prizes for the male and female who beat the previously established fastest times. The top male time to beat is 39:25.81 set by Leonard Wyss in 2015 and the top female time to beat is 39:12.59 set by Annie Quinonez in 2014.
Please note that, if there is a tie of individuals breaking the old mark, the prize money will be split between/among the winners.
All other awards will be given to 1st overall M/F, 1st Master M/F, and then by age group in five-year increments starting with 14 and under to 70+.

The first 200 runners to register will receive our unique dry-fit t-shirt (unisex sizing) that features our new logo.
