Join PIH Engage Madison as we run/walk in solidarity with community health workers all around the world.
Community health workers help care for patients in areas where professional health care is unavailable. Besides being a efficient and sustainable resource, significant evidence suggests that these workers greatly improve health outcomes for large populations in underserved regions. In order to reach their patients, community health workers often have to walk hundreds of miles each year.
On April 3rd, we'll run/walk a fraction of what they do when we follow a 3.1 mile (5K) path along the Howard Temin Lakeshore Path.
The event will begin at 12:15 PM, with check-in beginning at 11:00 AM outside the University of Wisconsin Natatorium-2000 Observatory Drive Madison WI
**Register ahead of time and recieve a reduced rate of $20 plus a t-shirt in a size of your choice**
Registration day-of, at the event will cost $25
All proceeds from this event will go directly to current Partners In Health efforts to train and support community health workers all across the globe.
Stick around after the 5K for a raffle and reception (including SNACKS!!)
Hope to see you there!
