The 12th annual YOUth Make a Difference 5K is taking place on Sunday June 19, 2016. Whether you are a competitive athlete or casual jogger/walker, this popular community event is fun for the whole family. The race features a scenic course in the Glen and Gallery Park along with refreshments, entertainment, technical t-shirts, swag bag, raffle and awards. Proceeds raised benefit Youth Services, a non-profit mental health agency that provides early intervention and intervention services to children and adolescents. Services include individual and group therapy, after school programs, socialization groups, emergency assistance and crisis intervention.
The 12th annual YOUth Make a Difference 5K is taking place on Sunday June 19, 2016. For the most part, the course is fast and flat, with the exception of a quick hill between miles 2 and 3. Our course begins on Eastbound on Chestnut Ave with the first mile winding through residential neighborhoods. The remainder of the course is through Gallery Park around Lake Glenview. There are water stations at both the entry of park and after mile 2. The course finishes between Little Bear Park and Attea Middle School.
from Willow Road: head South on Patriot Blvd. turn left onto Chestnut Ave. turn left into the parking lot for Attea Middle School and the Glenview Park Center
from Lake Ave: head North on Patriot Blvd. turn right onto Chestnut Ave. turn left into the parking lot for Attea Middle School and the Glenview Park Center
from Waukegan Road: head West on Chestnut Ave. turn right the parking lot for Attea Middle School and the Glenview Park Center
