Description

Cree, Inc. in collaboration with BBBSRK is proud to host the 7th Annual Cree Cruise 5k fun run/walk.

The Cree Cruise is a 5k fun run/walk sponsored by Cree with all proceeds benefiting the local non-profit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Racine & Kenosha Counties (BBBSRK)

Parking:

Northbound traffic on Wisconsin Ave, Rayne Rd & 96th Ave will be completely closed.  Cree will open up their north parking lot for participants. 

From Washington Avenue (Hwy 20) head South on Wisconsin Street. Look for members of the Racine Police Explorers to direct you.

Additional parking available at DMV & Army Reserve. 

Awards info:

The Cree Cruise Awards Ceremony will take place following the race. Individual and Team Awards will be presented at this time.

Individual Awards

Cash Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers (excluded from age group awards). The cash prizes are:

• First Place – $500
• Second Place – $250
• Third Place – $100

Additional awards will go the top three finishers in fifteen different age groups:

Team Awards

Awards for the the top team winners are presented at the award ceremony. Team awards are given out for the Largest Team, the Fastest Team, and the Top Pledge Raising Team.

– Largest Team: The largest team will receive a photo plaque for all their hard work. A picture of the largest team will be posted on www.creecruise.org  after the race. (Cree is excluded from the largest team award.)

– Fastest Team Award: A photo plaque is awarded to the team that finishes in first place. The fastest team is determined by the average times of the first five runners.

– Top Pledge Raising Team: Help us make a difference in the lives of the youth by providing successful mentoring relationships for all children in the Racine County by raising pledges. The team raising the most pledges will receive a photo plaque.

Additional info

Race Restrictions:

Please no bicycles, roller skates/blades, skateboards, or pets. No alcoholic beverages allowed. No unsportsmanlike conduct or foul language. Only runners will be timed. Please keep in mind this is a Family Friendly Event! 

We ask that strollers and wheelchairs start behind runners. 

All race decisions by race officials prevail on race day.

Water & First Aid

There will be a water stop halfway through the course along the 1.5 mile mark and also at the finish line. There will be certified, licensed first aid personnel and first aid tents set up at the 1.5 mile mark and also at the finish line.

For the Kids

Kid’s Cruise

The Kid’s Cruise is a 400 yard race open to all children 10 years of age and under. All participating children will receive a Kid’s Cruise ribbon after crossing the finish line. No registration is required. Loud cheering from parents is strongly encouraged.

Timing

The run will be professionally timed using a ChronoMix timing system. This timing will be accurate and official. Please wear your race bib on the front of your shirt. Do not remove the bottom tag on the bib. Only runners will be timed.

Other Information

Please check the information on your bib numbers to make sure your age and gender are correct.

Only registered participants are allowed on the race course. Anyone who is not wearing a race bib on the front of their shirt will be removed from the course. Please cross the finish line only once. Please do not re-enter the race once you have crossed the finish line. Doing so will cause problems with our timing system.

Race Results

Results will be posted on site close to the awards ceremony shortly after the first finishers complete the race. Links to the race results will also be posted shortly after the event on the results page of this website.

Restrooms

There will be plenty of portable toilets in the parking lot.

Pick up your packet anytime between 12:00p.m. and 5:00p.m. at the West entrance of Cree, Inc. Friday, June 3rd.

Enter through the West Employee entrance which is off of 96th Street and Hwy 20.

As a courtesy to all teams over 20 people, we will deliver your team packets to you.

Race packets inlcude your race bib and official t-shirt.
