2nd Annual Run/Walk for the Paws 5K

• Run/Walk for the Paws 5K:- Run 3.1 Miles

The Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter is holding our 2nd Annual Run/Walk for the Paws 5K on Saturday, April 16th at 9AM outside Bode Ice Arena, 2500 Southwest Parkway, St Joseph, MO 64503. Chip timing for this race will be provided by RaceDay Timing Solutions. Parking will be available in the Phil Welch Stadium parking lots. This event is dog-friendly, so we greatly encourage you to bring your dog(s) to join you for the race. In addition, local pet-related businesses/organization will have booths for participants to browse while attending this event. This event is a great way for all ages in the community to get involved in physical activity while bringing awareness to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter and supporting our beloved shelter pets!

The race course is handicap accessible and relatively flat, but does have a few areas of a slight incline (1-2%). Participants will run/walk from Bode Ice Arena along the scenic Southwest Parkway Trail to Bartlett Park, then turn around at Bartlett Park and make their way back to Bode Ice Arena along the Southwest Parkway. There will be water, coffee, granola bars and bananas at the start/finish area. Volunteers will also be handing out water to participants along the course during the race.

Registration Fee and Information:

Early registration (before April 9th): $25, after April 9th: $30

Participants that register prior to race day can pick up registration packets on Friday, April 15th from 4-7PM at the St. Joseph Rec Center (2701 Southwest Parkway, St. Joseph, MO 64507) or on site the day fo the race.

Race Day schedule:

8-10:30AM Local pet-related business/organizations and kid's activity booths are open

8-8:50AM: Late registration and packet pick-up

9AM: 5K Run/Walk begins

10-10:30AM: Awards
