The 5th annual Sozo Children Run for a Reason is planned for Saturday, April 23rd, 2016. The theme of this event is “Run for a Reason.” 100% of the proceeds raised by this adventure run will be used to “sozo” (save or rescue) vulnerable children in Uganda, East Africa.
This race will be a 5K through the heart of Avondale. It will incorporate thriving 41st street, Avondale Park, food trucks, vendors, and a post-race performance by the Sozo Children's Choir all the way from Uganda.
In 2015, we are hoping to purchase 28 acres of land in Kampala, Uganda to begin building “the Sozo Village” which will consist of 28 children’s homes, a church, medical clinic and school. Funds raised at this event will go towards this project and these children.
While we are thrilled you are joining our mission by running in April – but we would also like to ask: What’s your reason? Let us know by using the hash tag: #myreason as you help us promote this event on social media leading up to the run. Tag @sozochildren on social media.
