The 4th Annual Sierra Vista Sunrise Rotary Rising Sun Run Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K takes place in the foothills of the scenic Huachuca Mountains in southeast Arizona. Event headquarters and the start/finish line will be at the corner of Buffalo Soldier Trail and St. Andrews Avenue, with event courses winding through country neighborhoods and Ramsey Canyon.
Event start times are as follows:
Half 6:15am
10K 6:45am
5K 7:00am
1M run run/walk – 7:15am
A chip timing system will be used this year. Timing will end at 9:45am and the event courses will close at 10:00am.
Onsite registration and packet pickup will be held on Friday, April 29, from 5:00-7:00pm at Race Headquarters (Huachuca Elementary at the corner of Buffalo Soldier and St. Andrews) for all three timed events. Same day packet pickup for Half Marathon runners will be from 5:45-6:00am. Same day registration and packet pickup for the 10K and 5K events will be held on Saturday, April 30, from 5:45 – 6:15am at Race Headquarters.
Aid stations will be located throughout the course, including hydration stations, rest room facilities, and snacks. Participants registering by April 15 will be guaranteed a technical shirt and a race day swag bag.
All half marathon participants will receive a finisher medal. All 10K and 5K finishers will receive a participant ribbon. Participants in all events will receive post-race snacks and drinks.
Dogs and strollers are allowed on the 5K run and 1M walking routes.
An awards ceremony will be held at 8:45am.
Prizes will be awarded to the top overall three finishers in each race category in both men’s and women’s divisions. Medal to the top three finishers by age brackets as follows for each race:
