Lemont Park District Freedom Run 5k

Brief Description

Join us for the 39th Annual Freedom Run as we pay tribune to Freedom races past and run the original Freedom 5k course.   Wear your best red, white, and blue and  Challenge yourself as you race through the scenic and hilly streets of Historic Lemont. Awards will be given to the top three runners in each age category.  And KIDS, we didn’t forget about you - come on out and take part in the “Kids Dash in the Park” at Centennial Campus at the conclusion of the race.

Safety

Runner safety is of the utmost importance.  Therefore, bicycles, in-line skates, other-wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs) and dogs are not allowed.  Jogging strollers must start in the rear.  No exceptions.

In the event of extreme weather conditions including heat indexes that exceed 82 degrees Fahrenheit, extreme humidity, and/or thunder and lighting the race may be postponed and/or cancelled.

If thunder/lighting is present at the time of the race start the race will be delayed 30 minutes to allow the weather to pass.  If the weather does not pass within the 30 minute time frame the race will be cancelled.  

Runners will have 2 hours from the time they cross the start line to complete the course.  Runners that are not able to complete the course within the 2 hour time limit will be removed from the course and returned to the starting area.

Packet Pick Up

Packet Pickup will be held on Thursday June 23^rd and Friday June 24^th from 4pm-8pm at the CORE Fitness and Aquatic Complex at 16028 127^th St., Lemont, IL  60439. Participants may register in person at packet pickup for $15 Kids Dash/$30 Freedom 5k.  Race day packet pick up on June 26^th will be available from 6:45-7:45am.   Tech T-Shirts will be available to the first 300 runners.  Sizes will be available on a first come first serve basis during packet pickup.

Race Day Registration

Race Day Registration will be $15 Kids Dash/ $35 Freedom 5k and available from 6:45am-7:45am June 26th.

 Parking

Parking is available at the on the Lemont Park District campus and at Old Quarry Middle

School.  Please enter through the Lemont Park District entrance off 127th Street.  NOTE:  The entrance to Old Quarry will be closed at 6:30AM sharp.

Event details and schedule

Start Time

The Freedom 5k Race will begin at 8am.  The Kid's dash will be at 8:45am.

Registration and Entry Fee

Registration will be available on Active.com through Wednesday June 24th.  Register early, this event may sell out!  Fees are $25 for individuals 6+ and $10 for those 5 and under. There will be a $3.25 Active.com processing fee added to each registration. Event shirts will be provided for those aged 6+.  Particpants must register by June 18th to be guaranteed a shirt.

Packet Pickup

Thursday June 23rd from 4pm-8pm and Friday June 24th from 4pm-8pm at the CORE Fitness and Aquatic Complex.  Runners aged 6+ will receive an event t-shirt.  Shirts will be available on the first come first serve basis at packet pickup to those who register by June 19th.  Sizes are not guaranteed. In person registration will be available at pakcet pick for $30 for the Freedom 5k and $15 for tthe Kids Dash.  Race Day Packet pickup will be held race morning from 6:45am-7:45am.

Race Day Registration

Race Day Registration will be from 6:45am-7:45am.  Fees will be $35 for the Freedom 5k and $15 for the Kids Dash.  If this event sells out before race day registration will not be available.
