Make a Joyful Noise 5K 2016

Make a Joyful Noise 5K is Emporia's only worship 5K!  This event is perfect for people from all fitness levels.  Those who enjoy leisurely nature walks will enjoy the breathtaking scenic views on the country course.  Runners who crave some challenge will enjoy the elevation changes and all terrain aspect of the course.  As runners and walkers complete the beautiful scenic course, they will encounter others worshipping God in song.  This is an excellent opportunity to come together in unity to fellowship and worship God in the beauty of His creation and burn a few calories before the holiday weekend and all those cookouts!  

Proceeds from this year's race will be donated to the worship team ministry at New Life Christian Church.  Funds will be used to purchase necessary equipment and to provide training for worship teams in the area.  

All participants will receive a running bib with a time chip, a custom t-shirt, and finisher medal (at the finish line). We will also have placement medals for our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers. We will do our best to have t-shirts available for registrants who sign up after the August 18 deadline, but in the event that we run out, we will order and they will be available for pick up at a later date. 

Event details and schedule

The second annual Make a Joyful Noise 5K will take place Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 8:30 am at New Life Christian Church, 1505 Rd 175 Emporia KS 66801.  Runners/walkers will start out at the church building, travel west on Rd 175 to make a loop around Thorndale (Locust Ln, Rd 180, and Lakeshore Dr), return east on Rd 175 to make 2 loops around the prayer walk and wooded areas of the church property, and return to the church building for a welcoming finish line celebration. Parking will be available along the south and west ends of the church parking lot.  

Packet pick up and registration will be offered Friday, September 2, from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 7:15-8:00 am.  Please plan to arrive, EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PICKED UP YOUR PACKET, by 8:15 am.  If you plan to pick up your packet Saturday morning, please plan accordingly as some may be registering during the 7:15-8:00 timeframe.  We want to make sure we have everyone registered and ready to line up by the 8:15 time. After the race please plan to stick around until 9:45 for our awards ceremony.  We will have plenty of good food and company to keep you full and entertained.  At this race we like to celebrate all finishers, first and last.  Join us to celebrate one another's achievements!
