Victory Over Violence 5K 2016

• 5K:- Run 3.1 Miles

    Please join us on Saturday, June 11, 2016 to help put an end to violence in Southeast Kansas and you can be a super hero! Come on out and run, walk, or just hang out to benefit Safe House Crisis Center, all donations gratefully accepted.

Everyone who comes out and participates will be a super hero,
but an award will be given to the adult and youth dressed in the best super hero costume.

Event details and schedule

    The 5k course will be run on the scenic street of Pittsburg, Ks around Lincoln Park with a portion of the race being run on the WATCO walking trail. This event will be electronically chip timed and photographs of the start, finish and a portion of the race will be taken. Photographs will be paid for by Safe House and a link will be provided on this site to view and download photos after the race. Anyone wanting higher resolutions pictures will be able to contact the photography company directly.

    The race will begin at 8:00 am and the Kid’s Fun Run will commence shortly after the conclusion of the 5K. Race day registration and packet pickup will start at 7:00 am on the day of the race. The start/finish line is located adjacent to the Pavilion between the Jim Kelly and Bunk Bournonville ball fields in Lincoln Park on McNally Road. Following the fun run and just before awarding the 5K medals, an award will be given to the adult and youngster in the best super hero costume. Awards will be given to the overall top three male and female finishers and the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions:

• Male and Female 19 and under
• Male and Female Divisions 20-29 years old
• Male and Female Divisions 30-39 years old
• Male and Female Divisions 40-49 years old
• Male and Female Divisions 50-59 years old
• Male and Female Divisions 60+ years old

    Entry fee for the 5K is $25. 5K Participants will receive a commemorative tech short sleeve t-shirt. Those signing up late may have to wait until the t-shirt can be mailed to them.
