The 8th Annual Waldo McBurney Race will be July 18, 2015 at the Quinter City Park. We are excited to continue this popular race that celebrates life-long fitness in memory of Quinter's most famous centenarian, Mr. Waldo McBurney. All proceeds from the race go to the support and operations of Castle Rock Wellness Center, located on Main St. in Quinter, KS.
Entry fee includes chip timing for 5K and 10K races.
This race attracts both elite level runners as well as families, with participants of all ages and fitness levels. Both runners and walkers are welcome. The 2015 race is being held in conjuction with the Quinter All-School Reunion.
Awards will be given to overall and age division winners for both races. All finishers age 12 and under will receive a medal. Male and Female overall 5k and 10k winners will receive $100 cash.
The course goes through the town of Quinter and has good fan support. The 10K race is run largely on county roads outside of town. Come join us for a fun filled mornining!
Packet pick up may be done the night before at the city park from 6:30 to 8:00 pm or the morning of the race starting at 6 am and finishing at 7:30.
The 10k will start at 8:00 a.m.
The 5k will start at 8:00 a.m.
The 1 mile will start at 9:30 a.m.
The 200 meter Children's Race will start at 10:00 a.m or after the 1 mile concludes.
The Kid's Marathon Mile will be concurrent with all races.
Overall and Age Division Awards will follow the races.
