5K Home Run 2016 ~ Results

Join us this Memorial Day for a fun event for the entire family which supports two wonderful organizations in Lawrence who have a mission to serve those in a situation of homelessness--Family Promise Lawrence and the Lawrence Community Shelter.

The 4th annual 5K Home Run is May 30, 2016, in beautiful downtown Lawrence, Kansas.  The race starts at South Park, 11th & Massachusetts St. at 8:00 am, rain or shine.

This is a fast, certified course.  First time racers, joggers, walkers, strollers and dogs on leash with their owners are welcome as it will be a fun family event.  Music, a short fun run and other activities for children will follow.  There will also be a supply drive for Family Promise and the Lawrence Community Shelter.  Here is a of Wish List items that would be welcome. Donations, cash or checks made out to Family Promise Lawrence (5K on memo line) can be brought to Sunday packet pick up or to the Supply Drive table Monday.

Register by May 1 and save $5.  And back again this year---sign up four or more at a time online by May 25th and save $5 each, so put together a team of friends or family and get some friendly competition going for a good cause. 

Can't run or want to help at other times?  We need volunteers to help make this event the most successful yet! Help with packet stuffing, kids activities or cheer on runners as a course marshal. Sign up to help here.

Race Day Schedule:

7 - 7:30 am: Packet pickup and registration

8 am: Race start, rain or shine

8:45- 10:00: Kids Run and activities for the entire family

Note: Timing chips will activate when you cross the start line and will be shut off after 1 hour.
