It's round two of the the Mid-Atlantic Run and Gun Race® and this time there will be even more opporunities to leap, crawl and shoot your way to the finish line!
The Run and Gun Race®, a mission inspired obstacle course race requiring shooters and athletes to overcome physical obstacles as well as shooting obstacles… and in some cases both at the same time.
Race participants are issued an M4 Professional Training Rifle, a military simulation airsoft rifle built to mimic the real thing in weight, handling, and firing characteristics, while providing a safe experience for shooters of all skill levels (or no skill at all). Athletes are familiarized their weapon, taught basic safety, movement and firing techniques, and then set loose into an intense woodland environment.
As racers move through the 5 kilometer course they will be confronted with exciting firing problems, reactive targets, challenging military style obstacles, and rugged terrain. Athletes will be timed and their scores based on both speed and accuracy. Designed for both the competitive individual/team or the casual shooter, there are many ways to enjoy this race.
Created by members of the military elite, this “short” 5K course will challenge obstacle course racers, airsofters and shooters alike. Space is limited... register early to ensure you get to earn your tags and enjoy the post-race festivities!
We proudly support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Frederick based, Platoon 22.
