The “Broadwater Bounty”

          The 16^th Annual Lisa Wade 5K Run will be held on Saturday, July, 9th at Creekside Park in Westernport, MD.  Course records for the 5K are

Overall;

Jaron Hawkins---15:15, Jennifer Davis---17:33

Masters;

Dennis Mickey---17:07, Heather Bury---19:16

          Bob and Sue Broadwater have offered a race incentive, that pays out $100.00 for each course record that is broken. This is a $50.00 increasing payout for each year the records stay intact and increases to maximum payout of $500.00. This year the bounty is;

Overall Male---$450.00

Overall Female---$350.00

Male Masters (over age of 40) ---$400.00

Female Masters (over age of 40) ---$100.00

          Early registration and family discounts are available. Pre race registration is due by July 4^th. A special discount applies to early registration with multiple family members. Day of race registration will be $20.00. Sign up will be from 7:00 until 8:15 am at Creekside Park. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entrants.

Event details and schedule

The 16th Annual Lisa Wade Memorial 5-K Run, 1.5 mile Fun Run/Walk and “Corey’s Course” will be held on Saturday, July 9th, beginning at 8:30am in Westernport, MD

Fun Run / Walk

A 1.5 mile fun run / walk through the town will coincide with event.

Corey’s Course is an event that is free for children 10 and younger. This event will begin at 9:30 and is a dash around the park. Parents must register child by completing form.

Course

The race will begin on Rt. 36 approximately 100 yards from the Westernport American Legion and Creekside Park. The course will continue across the iron bridge from Waverly Street over to Main Street and through the town of Westernport. From Westernport the race will proceed along Rt.36 north to Franklin. At Franklin the course follows old Rt. 36 south,

back to Westernport and Creekside Park.

back to Westernport and into Creekside Park.

Awards

All Registered runners will receive a beautifully designed t-shirt. Mugs will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each age division. The top male and female overall winner will receive a Jacket along with a special gift.

After the Race

After the awards are presented there will be refreshments available. There will also be a drawing for some very nice door prizes, and you must be present to win.
