The Lub Dub 5K/10K Walk/Run is held each year on the last Saturday in April. Named after the sound of a healthy heartbeat, the Lub Dub benefits the Camye Callis Gaspard Memorial Heart Fund, which helps finance improvements in cardiovascular treatment in the community. The fund was created by the Callis-Gaspard families in memory of Camye Callis Gaspard, a mother of four who died at a young age from complications of an undiagnosed heart condition.
New this year, a commemorative event medal will be given to everyone who crosses the finish line. This chip-timed event draws more than 500 participants – both competitive runners and social walkers who support the cause. All participants who pre-register receive a commemorative Lub Dub shirt and swag bag.
