Description

The 2nd Annual Dale F. Kilwein Memorial Run takes place on the Crooked Crane Trail around Patterson Lake on the out skirts of Dickinson, North Dakota. This trail will wind around the south side of the lake on Bureau of Reclamation land and finish at the local softball complex.  The trail has been around for many years and in the last year has seen increased traffic. The first 8 miles of the trail will be a mowed trail that will come out on the south side lake boat dock area onto a gravel and paved road. The route continues on gravel and paved surface/roadways and will finish at the local softball complex.  The route is flat to rolling prairie.

This is again the 1st year of the event which we hope to have annually! The race is in memory of Dale F. Kilwein a who was born and raised in Dickinson.  He had a passion for teaching Hunter Safety which he taught for 36+ years.  He always struggled to have a building to hold classes in. So in his memory his family has decided to raise money to build a facility to hold Hunters Education in and allow other local organizations to use. So with that, the race is hunting themed so we encourage participants to dress up in hunting/camo attire or as animals!

We want to make this a fun, family event and look forward to seeing you at the start line!
