Description

The 3 Rivers Race Against Domestic Violence is a fun packed day designed to raise money for and to create awareness about the problems of domestic and sexual violence. The run courses will provide participants with fun challenges as well as beautiful vistas. Or join a biking group and tour our Grande Ronde Valley via a 35, 50 or 70 mile course....OR compete as a centurian and use the race to prime yourself for your summer season while contributing to a great cause. All proceeds will benefit 2 domestic violence shelters in Northeastern Oregon: Shelter From the Storm and Safe Harbors.

Event details and schedule

T-shirts and registration packets may be picked up Friday, June 3rd at The Mountain Works, La Grande, between 3-6 p.m. or at Pioneer Park on race day. Remember, your money MUST be turned in at this time. Families wishing a t-shirt MUST advise your captain in advance so enough shirts can be ordered. A fee of $15 per shirt will be allocated.

ABOUT THE RUNNING EVENT:

The race is a 5K or 10K. Each athlete is asked to pay the minimum of $35 worth of pledges. Sponsors may be solicited to pay this fee. However, as this is a charity event, we ask that each individual raise more than the minimum pledge. Prizes for the individual/ team raising the most pledges will also be given.

START:

BIKERS START:

The running race will start and end at Pioneer Park in La Grande. Starting times will be: 5K/10K- 12 p.m.noon; walkers- 10a.m.; 13 mile walkers: 9 a.m., We would like all contestants to end at Pioneer Park at 1 p.m. Walkers, please estimate your speed and plan your start time accordingly.

The bike race will start and end at Pioneer Park in La Grande. Starting times will be at 6 or 7 a.m.according to your estimated time of arrival.
