Spring Has Sprung 5K

The inaugural Spring Has Sprung 5K/1 Mile Fun Run will take place in Hendersonville, TN along the scenic greenway in Drake's Creek Park. Planned and hosted by Kody and Jennifer Sanderfer, proud residents of Hendersonville for more than 8 years, all financial contribution will help to make this event a great success both for the local community and for their personal efforts towards meeting their financial needs to relocate to Senegal, West Africa to engage in community health efforts among the Wolof people.

Kody and Jennifer have partnered with SIM (www.simusa.org) to begin using their skills as nurse practitioners to address health care needs, such as diabetes and hypertension, in a primary care clinic in Dakar, Senegal. Much of the world outside of the United States is impacted on a daily basis by a lack of quality healthcare and your contribution through sponsorship of the Spring Has Sprung 5K will help make an eternal impact among the Wolof of Senegal.

Event details and schedule

The 1 Mile Fun Run will begin promptly at 8:00am.

The 5K will begin promptly at 8:30am.

The 5K race will begin in front of Union University at Maple Dr. and Indian Lake Blvd. Running southwest on Indian Lake, runners will turn right into Drakes Creek Park where the course will take you on the beautiful greenway. A water station will be located approximately at the halfway mark just after you cross the bridge. The route will then bring you back to Indian Lake Blvd. for a short segment after turning right at Saundersville Rd. Runners will finish the last 350 yards with a straight shoot into the finish line in front of Union University.

A limited number of parking spaces will be available at the university with additional parking available across the street at Cornerstone Financial and in the parking lot of Life Church.

Packet pick-up is available Friday, May 13th at Union University from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Race day packet pick-up will begin at 7:00am on May 14th.

Strollers are allowed and should line up at the rear of the starting line.

Event will be held rain or shine-except in the event of lightening.

No refunds of race registrations will be allowed.

When running on Indian Lake Blvd., please stay to the right side of the cones. Traffic will continue on Indian Lake but will be limited to a slow, one-lane.
